For Instructors

How Mia Music Studio works, how your students use it, and how you'll manage your class โ€” in a few minutes.

What it is

One shareable site โ€” miamusicstudio.com โ€” that branches into four hands-on labs: ๐ŸŽต Theory Lab (107 interactive lessons), ๐ŸŽน Piano Lab (technique with a MIDI or on-screen keyboard), ๐ŸŽง Aural Lab (ear training), and a ๐ŸŽฎ Game Lab for fun. Everything runs in a browser on any computer, tablet, or phone โ€” nothing to install.

1Try it yourself right now โ€” no sign-in needed

Open the hub, pick a lab, and start a lesson. You can do everything a student can, without any account:

โ‘  LearnWatch & listen. Play the whole exercise or step through it note by note.
โ‘ก PracticePress Start and play the highlighted notes โ€” the app waits for you, no pressure.
โ‘ข Test / QuizPlay in tempo (or take a fresh-question quiz). Your score is recorded.

Students can skip around and repeat anything. Only the final Test/Quiz counts toward a grade. Best with a USB MIDI piano in Chrome or Edge โ€” no keyboard? Tap the on-screen keys.

2How students use it

Without signing in โ€” anyone can open a lab and learn. Their progress is saved on that one device, and nothing is reported. Great for trying it out or a quick classroom activity.

Signed in with your class codes โ€” a student signs in once and it works across every lab. Their completed lessons and Test/Quiz scores are saved to their account and reported to you automatically, from any device.

Note: students can never create their own account. They can only sign in with the Class Code + Access Code you give them โ€” so no strangers can register. Anyone can still use the labs anonymously without any login.

3Managing your class live now

The same flow across all labs โ€” one approved email, one class, one student login for everything.

Need an instructor account? Instructor accounts are by invitation โ€” email with the address you'd like to use, and you'll receive a sign-in invitation. (No account is needed just to explore the labs.)
  1. Sign in โ€” open any lab โ†’ Instructor sign-in with your approved email (a one-time link is emailed to you, or use your password).
  2. Create a class โ€” name it (e.g. "Class Piano I โ€” Tue"). You get a Class Code. Every class works across all four labs.
  3. Add your students โ€” each student gets a personal Access Code. Hand out the Class Code (shared) + each Access Code (private).
  4. Students sign in once โ€” with those two codes, on any device, and use every lab.
  5. Watch progress โ€” your dashboard shows who finished what and their Test/Quiz scores, updating live.

Everyday management: in the class list, Archive a class you're done with (it's hidden but never deleted โ€” Restore anytime). Open a class to Add students or reset an Access Code if a student loses theirs. A student's completed lessons and scores follow their account across every lab.

4What counts (and what doesn't)

What you receive from each Lab, for signed-in students:

Lab Instructor report
๐ŸŽต Theory Lab Lesson completion plus Final Quiz score and date
๐ŸŽน Piano Lab Test results only โ€” Practice is not graded or reported
๐ŸŽง Aural Lab Quiz results only โ€” Learn by Doing and Practice are not graded
๐ŸŽฎ Game Lab No grade and no teacher report โ€” optional game history stays on the student's device

Retakes: a student may retake any Test or Quiz โ€” the best result is kept and that best result is what you see, in every Lab.

Not graded anywhere: the Learn and Practice steps, mini-games, and vocabulary โ€” students explore those freely, without limits and with nothing reported.

Fingering is shown as guidance only โ€” it's a recommendation, never something the app checks.

Getting started

The core learning tools are live โ€” explore the labs, create your class, and add students today. Aural Lab and Game Lab content will continue to expand. If you're just showing the labs, students don't need to sign in at all โ€” they can dive right in.
